FAQ 6

If the caregiver does not work out, what do you do to find a replacement?

At Empire Home Health Care, we do our best to match our clients with companions who will be able to meet the client’s needs, as well as get along with our client. That being the case, we know that sometimes things just don’t work out how you would like them to. If you ever have any concerns about your caregiver, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to address the issue. If the issue is not able to be properly addressed with your current caregiver, we can always assign a caregiver who will be a better fit.

FAQ 7

Do I pay the caregiver directly, or do I tip the caregiver?

Never pay your caregiver directly. All payments will go through Empire Home Health Care. If your caregiver ever tells you to pay him/her directly, please contact us immediately as this is not the proper channel for payment.

On the subject of tipping, if your caregiver has gone above and beyond the call of duty and you feel motivated to reward exceptional service with a tip, then by all means feel free to do so. But, keep in mind that tips are not required and are in no way expected.

FAQ 8

What if my caregiver does not show up for a scheduled shift?

If your caregiver does not show up for their scheduled shift, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can figure out why they are not showing up. It’s possible that they may just be running late, or it could be that there was an unexpected event that prevented them from coming in such as a car accident, family emergency, etc. Whatever the cause, we will make sure to get a backup companion to cover their shift as soon as possible.
